Nollywood actor, script writer and unleash ur
creativity 2015 “Best Producer” Anu
Gospel Fame also known as Gosfame; claims that the problem in Nollywood is far
from pirates and their activities in Nigeria.
Gosfame reveal this to Journalist who visited
him in Abuaj on his birthday on Thursday
2nd February 2017. The actor said that the major problem of Nollywood practitioners
is ‘’proper distribution of films within the country’’. Not Piracy as many film practitioners
believe. This problem he said, has
discourage so many movie producers in the country and in turn making the
business less interesting for all practitioners.
He added that if films produce in
Nigeria are made available and affordable for all Nigerians to buy. The will be little or no patronage to pirates
and their pirated movies. He said that pirates are only making use of the
opportunity created by unavailability of films advertise on social medias and
TV stations. Therefore he suggested that proper
distribution framework should be put in place by practitioners. And if this is
done, Pirates will automatically be eliminated from the business.
The actor pointed that, the era of
exploitation of producers by marketers is gradually passing away with the
introduction of platforms created by Cinemas, Iroko TV, African Magic and other
TV stations for producers to showcase their movies.
Gosfame admitted that film production
business is very lucrative and financially tasking too. Therefore made a call to government and
privates bodies to invest in the business to fasten the development of this
important sector of the country’s economy; especially now in the era of economy
diversification emphasis by the President Muhamadu Buhari’s administration.
Gosfame finally made a call to Nollywood practitioner to embrace
peace in all their Endeavours and also appreciated outstanding films Makers like;
Lancelot, Emmanuel Eyaba, Judith Audu, Ken
Awoji, Paul Apel and Bright Wonder who Despite the economic challenges
have stood firm in the business.
