Nollywood filmmaker, theatre practitioner, broadcast journalist and winner of Best Makeup Artist African Magic Viewers Choice Award Perekeme Odon in an interview with celebrity mic Assures Nigerians especially his fans and followers of his commitment of making them proud and continually improving his craft to fit into the fast growing Film Industry. he also added that his motivational force in the business has been his passion for professionalism and experimenting the unseen.
Director Perekeme won the 2017 African Magic Viewers Choice Award AMVCA with the movie OLOIBIRI. Produced by Rogers Ofime shot in Bayelsa State Nigeria
Periwinkle popularly called by his friends and colleagues is a member of the Directors Guild of Nigeria DGN and Actors Guild of Nigeria AGN and has many movies to his credit both as director and makeup artist.
The Bayelsa born Director has been nominated for several awards including 2007 African Movie Academy Award AMAA with one of his movies “Covenant Church” directed by Charles Novia and 2012 Nollywood Movies Awards NMA with “Tango with Me” a movie directed by Mahmood Ali Balogun.
He also express satisfaction for his AMVCA award pointing that though it came as a surprise but he was optimistic of his victory as he took out time to critically view all the movies in the same category with his on cinemas. He said “That gave me a better boost to walk tall on the red carpet at the event”
Perekeme is of those Nollywood practitioners who have work hard to improve their craft and watching it pay off. Truly hard work pays
On his final words he urge all Nollywood practitioners especially Makeup artist to put effort in their craft whether it pay immediately or not as every powder effect made with a brush tells a story for or against the artist holding it.
